Why poems?

Lin's story

Well, the simple answer is that gifts are given to be shared.

I have always loved poetry from a very young age. My father used to write a poem for our daughter on her birthday card each year. At some point after Dad's death I took on the mantle and delighted myself in continuing this practice. So I guess it is a natural gift that God has given me. Our daughter is 39 now and still has her poem yearly as does our four year old granddaughter.

I have been writing poems occasionally through the years but when I genuinely found the beginning of this wonderful relationship with the Lord, the Holy Spirit started really inspiring my writing and the whole genre changed to poems where God was encouraging us, challenging us, and bringing greater revelation of his love, mercy, grace and faithfulness towards us, and his greatest desire for intimacy with his children. Also his heart for the lost as we co-work with him.

This gives me so much joy and my heart is to share with others what the Holy Spirit is inspiring me to write; to bless, encourage and to glorify the one who is so worthy of all praise!
